Introduction
Manufacturing, using machinery for making articles on a large scale, has been one of the first sources of pollution. It is claimed that factories have been contributing up to 2/3 of pollution that cause climate change. Lowering the environmental impact of manufacturing is vital to preventing further climate change. The purpose of this subject is to introduce the basic concepts of manufacturing and synergies that can reduce the environmental impact, focusing on technological, systems and institutional aspects.
General Description
The course is designed to support the development of corporate social responsibility of manufacturers and increasing the product life cycle management by:
Introduction of digital management systems for production and processes,
Introduction to industry 4.0 and eco enabling technologies,
Understanding and reducing the product carbon footprint and
Management of environmental, social and governance data.
